C.Costa - P.Chacon
XII TB FINAL, 1999
Carlos E. Costa
This was a very difficult game to me and the decisive for the championship. At point
of move 16 I alreaedy had two draws ( both games were played by email ) and I knew that I should try
to complicate matters in order to try a win against Chacon. This explains my decision to avoid too many
exchanges were it was possible even if I get a sligtly worse position. At move 26 I tried a trap, on
advacing my d pawn, avoiding some exchanges for a while and luckily my partner felt in it! 1.c4
